Question No. 8

What are the rules of the Heathen Hangout inside?

Answer:
The rules are:
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 1) Inside the Heathen Hangout, unless there are exceptional circumstances, such as illegal images, inappropriate revealment of others' personal information, files containing viruses etc., or illegal files, there is no moderator editing of posts; apart from those exceptional circumstances, all posts are left unedited. There is also no locking of normal threads either except under really exceptional circumstances (i.e. no locking of threads that are normal discussion threads, not  offical HH announcements, writers' contributions or otherwise-special threads). In other words, you are free to say what you like, though violating HH forum rules and admittance criteria will mean the risk of banning. Posts may or may not be moved, or threads be split, to better suit the nature of each sub-forum, as circumstances and mood dictate.
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 2) Nontheism as per the admittance criteria
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 3) No preaching (no repetitive, obsessional preaching of anything at all, and yes, this includes atheist subjects as well; discussion is good, presenting one's point of view is necessary, but repetitively obsessional preaching is not cool)
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 4) No spammers or spamming
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 5) No advocation of bigotries, no trolling, and no repetitive inappropriate personal baiting
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 6) No advocation of the grosser and worse illegalities
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 7) No revealing of personal info gained inside HH outside HH without express permission beforehand.
No inappropriate revealing of others' personal information, whomever they may be.
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 8) Use the HH as it is intended, as a primarily social club but one that also provides a place for intellectually stimulating discussions and secular activism; no usage, for example, of the HH solely for advancing purposes unconnected to the HH and its reasons for existence
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 9) No Only-Lurking membership in the Private areas; members are asked to introduce themselves a little, and members who have not posted anything at all for around 2 months or more are in danger of having their accounts de-activated     if this happens, and if a member wishes to have his or her access to the Private areas re-activated, simply write an email to the HH admin. This rule does not affect the Public area, i.e. lurking-only membership is allowed in the Public area.
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 10) No sockpuppets without private permission of the HH admin; if you feel the need for a sockpuppet, please ask the HH admin privately per email or message in advance for permission. It is recognised that in some cases, for example where someone holds a responsible position elsewhere, a sockpuppet in order to be able to speak freely may well be necessary; in such a case simply write an email   or send a Private Message to the HH admin in advance to have it approved, and the information about your sockpuppet will be kept strictly private with the HH admin only.
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 11) No other activities that damage or endanger the Heathen Hangout website and board, such as posting computer viruses etc.
fieabull3.gif (877 Byte) 12) That these rules are broad and at times unclear is granted; but time will not be wasted attempting to try delineating every tiny possible instance. The rules are interpreted so to allow as much latitide as possible, but the rules will be enforced by banning if they are too greviously violated. The HH admin remains sole final interpreter and decision-maker on the rules and their enforcement.
